About Eventory

Eventory is a small independent publishing project about event inspiration and planning. We are not an event agency. We do not plan or run events for clients, we are not certified planners, and we do not take bookings. What we do is gather, organise and publish ideas — decor, colour palettes, venue styles, table settings — and pair them with practical planning information and free tools.

Why we built this

Most people planning a wedding, a birthday or a baby shower are doing it once, themselves, with no prior experience and a fixed budget. There is no shortage of pretty pictures online, but there is a shortage of usable starting points: what a thing roughly costs, how many guests fit a space, what needs doing and when. That gap is what Eventory tries to fill.

How we find ideas

We treat event design as a visual craft, so we cast a wide net. Inspiration comes from design publications, social platforms, vendor portfolios, seasonal trends, and AI-assisted research that helps us surface and organise ideas quickly. Sometimes the strongest direction for a piece arrives from somewhere unexpected. We think that is simply how creative work tends to go, and we would rather follow a good idea than a rigid formula.

How our content is made

We would rather be straightforward about this than let you guess.

Our articles are produced through research and AI-assisted drafting, and are reviewed by a person before publishing. We draw on published vendor pricing, industry sources, manufacturer specifications and aggregated customer feedback.

We do not conduct hands-on product or venue testing, and we do not claim to. When you see a figure on this site, it comes from published sources rather than from us measuring it ourselves. Where sources disagree or a number is genuinely uncertain, we give a range and say so instead of inventing false precision. Pages are updated as prices and trends change.

If you spot something inaccurate or out of date, please tell us. Corrections are welcome and we act on them.

Planning guides, seasonal event and decor ideas, and practical advice on choosing venues and working with vendors such as caterers, photographers and florists.

We also build free interactive tools: a budget calculator, a guest and seating estimator, a planning timeline, and an event style finder. They all run in your browser, they are all free, and none of them require an account or an email address.

How we make money

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. This never changes which products we feature or what we say about them. We also sell a paid planning guide, and we plan to run display advertising.
